“SEXY SINGLE-FAMILY HOMES NEAR YOU”
A real estate brand was looking for a lighthearted t-shirt graphic utilizing the “Sexy Singles Near You” slogan that’s so often associated with retro dating site ads, but for real estate instead. The result was a cheeky, fun, and retro graphic that would fit perfectly on a t-shirt.

The Inspo

As I sketched out the first iterations of the graphic, I thought of 70s-inspired ringer tees, iconic cartoon characters like Betty Boop, and 90s t-shirt graphics.

See below for some of the visual inspiration.

The Outlines

With my inspiration in mind, I designed an anthropomorphic house with matching brick-patterned fishnet tights, sitting on top of a block of foundation.

The graphic leans towards the posterized look of vintage graphic tees, with a distinctly cute look that makes it more modern.

See below for the design variants.

With Color

Staying true to the retro theme, I wanted the color palette to reflect the warm, saturated, yet slightly muted colors of old graphic tees.

I devised several color palettes that made use of a warm off-white as opposed to a stark white to achieve the slightly muted look.

See below for the color variants.

The Back

After designing the finished graphic, my client requested a matching graphic for the back of the tee as well, with a space for a QR code to be printed on and an additional slogan.

I aimed for a more simplified design for the back of the shirt, and came up with a few matching options. Option A turned out to be the winner!

See below for the t-shirt designs.

The Final Designs

With everything finalized, my client loved how the graphics turned out. Out of the color variants I presented, their favorites were the lime, gold, turqoise, and purple color palettes,  which you can see here!

See below for a closer look.
